Privacy Policy

Effective September 10, 2026

What this covers

This policy covers Google Tasks MCP Server, an open-source program that lets AI assistants read and manage your Google Tasks. It runs entirely on your own computer. There is no hosted service, and no server is operated by the developer.

What data it accesses

With your permission, it uses the Google Tasks API scope (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/tasks) to read, create, update, move, and delete your task lists and tasks. It does this only when the AI client you are using asks it to.

Where your data goes

Your task data travels only between your computer and Google's servers. None of it is sent to the developer or to any third party. The program has no analytics, telemetry, tracking, or advertising. Anything you choose to share with your AI client is governed by that client's own privacy policy.

What it stores

Two files, both on your computer only: the OAuth client credentials you create in your own Google Cloud project, and the token Google issues when you authorize. By default they live in ~/.config/google-tasks-mcp-server/ and are readable only by your user account.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Your Google data is used only to carry out the task actions you request, and is never sold, shared, or used for advertising.

Removing access

You can revoke access at any time from your Google Account permissions page. Deleting the ~/.config/google-tasks-mcp-server/ folder removes everything the program stored.
